Loctite

The brief

To create a 30-second video that showcases the strength and ease-of-use of Loctite Super Glue in a humorous way is not that easy. Loctite Super Glue is the go-to adhesive for all your repair needs. It's easy to use and super strong, making it the perfect solution for all your DIY projects..

The video opens with a school gym class where a boy is participating in a competition to see who can hang the longest from a pull-up bar. He decides to use Loctite Super Glue to glue himself to the bar, thinking it will give him an edge. The camera then jumps forward 50 years to present day, and the boy, now an old man, is still hanging from the bar.

Premise

A showdown between four guys takes place in a gymnasium in 1956. The "naughty" guy wins and teases the others. Because he has glued his hands to the boom with Loctite, he is still hanging there 50 years later.

Character reference

The goofy guy

Guy who looks mischievous and moody. Behaves in a troublesome way and is a strong moment in the classroom. He's in the gang but still not. Think "The Three Friends and Jerry." A gossip exchange.

The nice guy

Cute, kind and "successful" guy. The leader of the gang.

The old man: about 65-70 years old. is wearing the same clothes as when he got stuck in the barrier in 1956. Is a naturally integrated part of the gymnasium and therefore likes to mix in the activities. Has a rather cheeky and still arrogant/naughty attitude.

Insights

The film shows that Loctite is annoyingly hard and lasts for decades. What is once glued with loctite stays, perhaps for a lifetime. The guy who once glued his hands to a bar in a gym will pay for it for the rest of his life.
